Considering Beatport or Junodownload doesnt even sell m4a (unless the AIFF or ALAC formats are named as .m4a files, which I doubt) then I smell a transcode.

lossless m4a is allowed, lossy is not allowed, because of a big chance of being transcoded from mp3

I'd rather suspect many non-deezer extended mixes, unless they didn't keep original tags/encoder settings, being transcodes from Apple Music's m4as (that cost less) :P
It's tricky to detect even m4a-->lossless upscales, not to mention m4a-->mp3 transcodes. And most of the time ppl just reup what they found at vk/soulseek/other public sources with no idea if it's actually someone's proper mp3/lossless purchase
