I got a 192kpbs vinyl, but I guess you want the WEB.

Still looking for a digital copy of this if anyone has it. There is also a request for the same release in lossless: https://xprm.net/request/sy-unknown-product-devil-brain-wave-web

Sadly doubt a better digital version than a mp3 320kb exists. Any "WAV" formats were most likely purged from Junodownload
#4rene13cross2022-04-29 19:02
I mean... A digital copy at virtually any quality would be nice (within reason), nevermind lossless

192kb MP3 (Digital) and
FLAC (Vinyl rip, sadly a little cracklier)

Can you confirm that those digital files are "official" ones? Just asking because they're definitely vinyl rips, but also wouldn't put it past Quosh to have released vinyl rips as digital downloads back then
#7Q912022-04-29 23:22
The mp3s were bought from IMOdownload by myself. Can't prove it though. But I'm surprised that the clicks had been there all the time though. and I've had them since 2004 haha
#8rene13cross2022-04-29 23:55
I have no reason to doubt you. I've seen the same files touted as digital versions of this release as well so that seems to make sense. Funnily enough, that lossless vinyl rip sounds better to me, regarding loudness at least
#9Q912022-04-30 10:18
That's the only thing it got that's better XD
Also, the imodownload/digital vinyl rip sounds speeded up too (my rip is ~175BPM)

I contacted juno about previous purchases that were no longer available buy and they pretty quickly gave me another download link

is the 2006 original mix the same one or different? 5.14 in length

#12rene13cross2022-04-30 22:11
It's different
#13Q912022-04-30 23:52
The original is from 2003-2004. the 2006 one is a remix

Here's Q91's rips at 320kbps. I'll leave this open for him to share his lossless rip.

Are they definitely digital? Iirc, the ones sold through the official Quosh store were actually vinyl rips
#17Iancbailey2024-01-22 19:21
yes they are digital and i didn't get them from quosh website
#18Q912024-01-29 10:42
Gotta love it when someone confuses my vinyl rips for a digital copy XD
Edit: Product of the Devil has clicking in many parts of the track, and Brainwave as well, but not as much.
#19Borgild2024-01-29 09:47
That's because of vast post-processing you perform, cutting the peaks and reducing dynamic range which makes waveforms look like modern WEBs. While actually only manual pop/click removal and (maybe) normalization is recommended
#20Q912024-01-29 10:40
two form of post-processing I regret using is Dynamics (which I believe was the culprit behind most of my rips with a soft limiter at 16/17khz) and what Magix calls "Brilliance", which gives the audio-spectrum a "fence-like" pattern at the higher frequencies (and a softer limiter at 20khz). I used Brilliance to re-add some life to dull vinyl rips, but after Audio Cleaning Labs 17, they changed how that filter works, hence the fence-pattern.
But yea, I do try to increase the volume until the very highest parts of a track clips, and then add medium Multimax compression on that.
#21rene13cross2024-01-29 11:31
Man, my first instinct when I saw those specs was "those look incredibly like Q91s newer rips"...
#22Iancbailey2024-01-29 14:45
i ain't confusing nothing cause they ain't your rips either, listen am not getting into any argument about my files, i find it funny that if you had the same ones you'd be proving it but you don't thats it end of, it's like been back at school tickle tackle need to grow up
if you'd like to know i traded them on soulseek a while back and he assured me they was digital and i hear no crackles or pops what so ever
#23Q912024-01-29 23:27
the spectrums you posted are identical to my rips.
https://krakenfiles.com/view/TXbEIXE4tB/file.html
https://krakenfiles.com/view/PR9EpPnL38/file.html
If there are no crackles or pops,
then there's a chance whoever you downloaded them from have cleaned them up ever so slightly, which sadly is not the case, as overlaying your spectrum with mine yields no difference (meaning, no edits have been made).https://krakenfiles.com/view/jKeQJpVBjS/file.html
There is a noticeable pop around 0:30. It's not loud, but you should be able to hear it. And before that should be some tiny crackling.
So either you created spectrums for the wrong files... or... Imma leave this unsaid.
#24Iancbailey2024-01-30 19:46
now you are contradicting yourself you've just said the spectrums look identical so how the f can i have different spectrum the wrong tracks lmfao either way i don't give a flying f, digital or not it's a file its better than not having any at all, just leave it here i really can't be arsed
#25Q912024-01-30 13:03
I was implying that you might have several copies of these 2 tracks, as you said that you couldn't hear the obvious crackles and pops in the first 40 seconds of Product of the Devil, but you probably hear just as good as you give fucks...
